Prior to this, he completed an MChem (with year abroad) degree at the University of York, conducting his final year research project in the Laboratory for Drug Discovery in Neurodegeneration (LDDN) at Harvard Medical School. Here his project explored pro-drug enhancement of a novel small-molecule therapeutic for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).Outside the lab, Patrick enjoys playing the euphonium in various brass bands and wind ensembles.
