Our research in the area of catalysis utilises simple coordination cages. We have developed a novel approach to cage-based reactivity that centres on maximising electrostatic interactions to stabilise intermediates and transition states, taking inspiration from the way that enzymes catalyse chemical transformations. Evaluating catalytic mechanism and performance using detailed spectroscopic analysis is central to our methods. Our research in this area is also supported by an established collaboration with the computational group of Fernanda Duarte (University of Oxford). This article was published on 2024-09-13
