Advanced Higher Project in the School of Chemistry

Peebles High School pupils visit us

Due to unforeseen circumstances, advanced higher pupils at a local high school were unable to complete their project work in school. The pupils were invited to the inorganic and organic teaching labs in the School of Chemistry for a two-day workshop, where they were provided with all of the resources to complete their projects.

Our fantastic team comprising of Public Engagement Scholar, Dom Cairns-Gibson, PhD students Dahlia Eldosoky, Alex Elmi, Hal Lewis and teaching lab technicians Jenifer Anderson, Craig Ross, Kirsty Bain and Patrick Hencher put together equipment kits and facilitated these workshops. This allowed the pupils to focus on their project and the vast majority completed all their experimental work in two days, which they otherwise would not have been able to do.
