Hear from our MSc students about their experiences of studying in Edinburgh Vienty Sabrina Vienty decided to study abroad to find out more about the health-related applications of chemistry. After graduating from the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry degree programme in 2024, she secured a job as a patent scientist. Diduo Zhang Diduo deepened his interests in academic research through the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry degree programme. Since graduating in 2021, he has moved to Canada to pursue a PhD in radiopharmaceuticals. Jifang Zhang Jifang came to the MSc Materials Chemistry programme from a chemical engineering background. The programme helped him to build a solid foundation for his later PhD and postdoctoral roles. Farjana Afroj Farjana was drawn to the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry degree programme due to the cutting-edge research facilities in the School. Since graduating in 2019, she has continued her academic career in Bangladesh. Evelina Venckute Evelina came to the School of Chemistry to deepen her knowledge through the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry degree programme. She has since stayed on at the School to study for her PhD in the Jarvis group. Edmund Morris Edmund came to Edinburgh in 2019 to gain research experience in materials chemistry as part of his MSc programme, impressed by the variety of topics offered. He has since stayed on at the School to complete a PhD. Dipanjana Choudhury Dipanjana decided to pursue an MSc in Materials Chemistry to advance her knowledge of physical and inorganic chemistry and sharpen her research skills. Since graduating, she has been working towards her PhD in Cambridge. Yi He Yi He particularly enjoyed the lectures and opportunities to connect with others during her time on the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry programme. She discusses her highlights from her time studying in Scotland. Yanqing Han Yanqing studied on the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry programme in 2020, during the global covid-19 pandemic. He enjoyed the supportive atmosphere in the School of Chemistry, and has since continued on an academic path after graduation. Sofia Lampitsi During her MSc studies, Sofia enjoyed learning about the process of drug design through to drug studies and manufacturing. Since graduating, she has stayed on in the city of Edinburgh. Yichuan Zhang Yichuan graduated from the MSc Materials Chemistry degree programme in 2014 and was later drawn back to Edinburgh to complete his PhD. Clinton Veale After graduating from the MSc Medicinal and Biological Chemistry programme in 2010, Clinton returned to South Africa to pursue a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Rhodes University and has since gone on to become a senior lecturer.
