School outreach team visits Dunoon Grammar School The Chemistry on Tour – Inspiring Science programme included a visit to Dunoon Grammar School on the 18th of February 2020.A Chemistry team comprising of Professor Eleanor Campbell, Dr. Philip Bailey, Dr. Anna-Maria Maciejuk, Ezra Kitson (a PhD student in Dr Nicholle Bell's group), Jessica McConnell and Emma Shuttleworth (3rd year chemistry undergraduate students) and two students from the School of Physics, Sania Lewis (5th year undergraduate student) and Rachel Bass (MSc student) worked with S3 pupils on two topics: transistors and waves.In the evening the team provided fun and interesting hands-on activities for parents and pupils from Dunoon Grammar School and local primary schools. The activities included Sci:Fun polarisaiton table, molecule building, bridge building challenge and many more. We are looking forward to working with Dunoon Grammar School pupils, teachers and community on developing future visits.This was all thanks to generous funding from Afton Chemical.
