Lasswade High School visits the School of Chemistry The School of Chemistry recently offered teaching lab access to advanced higher students who are undertaking their projects. Recently, a local school requested to use our IR facilities. The pupils were met by members of our public outreach team of Dom Cairns-Gibson, Kieran Nicholson Emily Xu and were given a demonstration on the use of the IR spectrometer. They were then able to run their own samples and collect data for their projects. As many of the pupils were interested in going on to study chemistry and other STEM subjects, they were given an in-depth tour of the School of Chemistry and had the opportunity to discuss university life with current University of Edinburgh students. If you are interested in taking your pupils to use our facilities please contact our team. Publication date 26 Feb, 2020
