Publication Success for MChem Student

5th Year undergraduate among authors of new paper in Science

Congratulations to Petar Iliev, who is named among the authors of a new article published in Science. The paper is entitled "Small-molecule inhibitor of OGG1 suppresses proinflammatory gene expression and inflammation".

Petar is a current 5th year MChem student on our Medicinal and Biological Chemistry course. He spent his 4th year in Sweden as the first Edinburgh student working under the supervision of Edinburgh chemistry alumnus Dr. Martin Scobie and Dr Olov Wallner in the Science for Life Laboratory, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. The Primary Investigator is Dr. Thomas Helleday.

Petar worked on an exciting medicinal chemistry programme targetting inhibition of inflammation and made a valuable contribution to the team's research programme.
